DIY Diwali: Ways To Make Handmade Greeting Cards For Diwali

1) Diya Greeting Card

Things You Need

● Blank sheet
● Marble papers (Red and Yellow)
● Pencil
● Gum
● Sketch Pens

How To Make?

● Take a blank sheet of paper and sketch out a beautiful diya in its centre.
● Tear red marble paper into tiny bits and pieces.
● Apply a few drops of glue carefully and paste those red marble paper bits of your diya as a collage.
● In the same way, tear the yellow marble paper into pieces and cover up the flame.
● Take your sketch pens out and write “Happy Diwali” or some fantastic Diwali quotes in some nice font. And your greeting card is ready.

2) Rangoli Greeting Card

● Blank sheet of paper

● Colours

How To Make?

● Look for some easy yet colourful rangoli design online and sketch it out with the help of a pencil.
● Fill colours to it by using sketch pens.
● Add some glitters, beads and sparkle to help your card shine the brightest.
● Write some quotes, wishes and other such things to highlight your card.

3) Cracker-free Diwali

Though, people have been vigilant enough not to celebrate Diwali with crackers creating pollution but crackers are still seen to be very closely linked with Diwali.

● Blank sheet of paper
● Mount board
● Pencil
● Sketch Pens
● Colours

How To Make?

● Sketch out a conical shaped cracker on the top of the mount board.
● Colour it with some glitters, bright colours and paste it to your cover page of the sheet.
● Cut out some colourful stripes for showing the bursting of it.
● And write something to convey your Diwali greetings to your dear ones. You can even cut out the mount board and get it shaped into a cracker greeting card and can attach the greeting on top of it.

4) Popup Diwali Card

Things You Need

● A4 size colour paper
● Glue
● Old Wedding Card
● Ribbon
● Half Cut Pearl
● 3D Outliner Golden
● Mirror
● Scissors
● Sparkle Pen
● Pencil
● Double Side Tape

How To Make?

● Take a colour paper and fold it into half.
● Take a fancy sheet cutout from some old wedding card and make sure it is an inch smaller to that. Measure and cut it out.
● With the help of glue, stick it to one side of the card.
● Then look for some fancy part in the old wedding card like a Ganesha picture or something bright and colourful.
● Cut that out and paste it with the help of double sided tape. Partially covering the pasted cutout of the wedding card and the A4 size sheet.
● Take another rectangular cutout so that it fits the card’s measurement horizontally. And give it a bubble-like shape, as you cut it out.
● Embellish its corners with pearls and write “happy diwali” with 3D ouliner golden. And paste it on the bottom boundary of the card.
● Then cut out a circle of 3-4cm in radius and fold it into two halves. Then open the folds and apply glue on its crease and fold it again in the same manner.
● Likewise of the same measurement, prepare four circles and four cutouts.
● And paste one one onto the other one by applying glue on its outer crease.
● Take red paper and cut out 4 wavy semi circles to make its flame. Takwe yellow sheet and cut out 4 smaller circles. Paste it one on the other one.
● Fold it into half to get it creased and make it seem like a flame.
● Then similarly, stick these 4 flames together back to back from its crease with the help of glue.
● Then open the card and paste the last flap of both the sides to the card with a generous amount of glue on it. Same applies to its flame.
● Have some miniature cutouts of hearts and diyas to fill the inside of the card or you can write something of your own too.
● Tie it around with a ribbon to make its enclosure look more detailed.
